One of my most valuable sources has been the work of a famous Egyptologist. Since these novels areI came across her work in the journal of the World Heritage Fund/ World Monuments Fund. She was hired to excavate the temple of King Amenhotep III, called his temple of a Million of Years. This temple is extremely large stretching 100 metres in length from the colossi at the main entrance, which faced east to the Nile, to sacred altars pointing toward the Valley of the Kings in the west, the complex covered an area nearly the size of the Vatican City. In its day, it was the largest and one of the most ornate religious structures in the world, filled with hundreds of statues, stone reliefs and inscriptions set among colonnaded plazas.

Unfortunately, there were several problems facing the temple. First for a good reason it was built to close to the Nile and over the centuries it was covered with metres of silt. Secondly, a severe earthquake topled many of the structures and statues, finally because of the scarcity of materials, kings wishing to erect their own temples or monuments, stole material from the site. Digging down three metres of silt, the team of 300 workers has over 30 years brought to light hundreds of states an resurrected the Sun Court.

It is great to tell of many of the historical facts jointly with the fantasy of Jonathans possession of the sacred Scarab, which enables him and his friends to visit Egypt's wonderful past.
